abstract = "This paper introduces Arabic Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training (AraCLIP), a model designed for Arabic image retrieval tasks, building upon the Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training (CLIP) architecture. AraCLIP leverages Knowledge Distillation to transfer cross-modal knowledge from English to Arabic, enhancing its ability to understand Arabic text and retrieve relevant images. Unlike existing multilingual models, AraCLIP is uniquely positioned to understand the intricacies of the Arabic language, including specific terms, cultural nuances, and contextual constructs. By leveraging the CLIP architecture as our foundation, we introduce a novel approach that seamlessly integrates textual and visual modalities, enabling AraCLIP to effectively retrieve images based on Arabic textual queries. We offer an online demonstration allowing users to input Arabic prompts and compare AraCLIP{'}s performance with state-of-the-art multilingual models. We conduct comprehensive experiments to evaluate AraCLIP{'}s performance across diverse datasets, including Arabic XTD-11, and Arabic Flicker 8k. Our results showcase AraCLIP{'}s superiority in image retrieval accuracy, demonstrating its effectiveness in handling Arabic queries. AraCLIP represents a significant advancement in cross-lingual image retrieval, offering promising applications in Arabic language processing and beyond.",

Volunteering provides an opportunity to connect with individuals who share similar interests and values. It serves as a platform for acquiring novel proficiencies and enhancing pre-existing ones. Engaging in volunteer work offers a means to effect positive change on a global scale. Additionally, it offers an avenue for personal enjoyment and fulfillment, allowing individuals to authentically express their identities.
I have a great experience with IEEE, started when I was a student at the University and I am still an active volunteer with it. You can find some information about my experience through this page:
Here are the main position for my volunteering work with IEEE
IEEE R8 Chapters Coordination Committee
Full member of a committee.
IEEE United Arab Emirates (UAE) Section
I volunteered in this position to show clearly the value of IEEE to the IEEE United Arab Emirates members. I encouraged students and professionals to engage in IEEE activities that offer a variety of opportunities to them in the UAE and around the world.
IEEE Region 8 – Student Activities
I volunteered as Student Branch Chapters Coordinator and SAC Liasion to Technical Activities Chapters Coordination Subcommittee
As Jordan Section Student Representative (SSR). I represent all the Student Branches, supports all IEEE student members in the Jordan Section, and responsible for coordinating and encouraging activities of interest to all IEEE student organizations that report to the Jordan Section. Also, as SSR I will keep students connected with the Section and its organizational units and its sub-units while providing them with networking opportunities and learning opportunities in the technical, professional leadership, and teamwork skills areas.
IEEE University of Jordan Student Branch is the IEEE
entity inside the university which aims to serve the
students and improve their technical and non-technical
skills through organizing diverse activities,
conferences and workshops.
I was elected to lead and drive an Executive Committee
of 10 officers, an approximate number of 20 volunteers
and 180 members, as well as work with 4 different
sub-committees, and Affinity Group at the IEEE
University of Jordan Student Branch.
A volunteer in Implementation of PV cells on
"Shabab Al Wadi charity " by IEEE University of
Jordan PES Chapter.
We installed a Photovoltaic system for a charity
called "Shabab Al Wadi" in Jordan valley – one of
the remote areas in Jordan- , this charity
subsidizes poor families , orphans, refugees and
college students , also it gives literacy lessons
and courses for the unemployed. It supports more
than 600 persons in the different fields it offers .
