About This Competition
The Crown Prince Award for Best Government Service Application is an annual award designed to stimulate and encourage university students to provide creative solutions via smartphone applications. The aim is to improve government services and provide simple around the clock government services that are easy, efficient, and transparent to exceed customer expectations. Our team entered Dawaie, a medical application making government health services easier to reach, into the 2nd edition of the award and placed 3rd.
Highlights
- Placed 3rd in the 2nd edition of the Crown Prince Award for Best Government Service Application with the Dawaie app.
- The team was awarded a 20,000 JOD (about $28,200) prize.
- Competed against about 122 projects submitted by 25 universities across Jordan.
- Led the four-student team from the University of Jordan as team leader: Mohammad Albarham, Mohammad Khaleel Al-Khawaldeh, Zaid Sameer Al-Khateeb, and Zuhair Raed Mahmoud.
- Recognised by the University of Jordan's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre with a certificate of appreciation and a university shield on 1 September 2021.
- Represented the team on Jordanian television to present the application after the award.
